On the other side, the most strict vegans might say that no Cheerios are vegan. Relaxed vegans might say that all Cheerios are vegan enough for them. Sometimes, I even refer to these ingredients as “gray area” ingredients for vegans. It’s because there is quite a bit of debate amongst vegans about this ingredients. I put “non-vegan” in quotation marks here for a reason. I went through the ingredients lists for all the current Cheerios cereal flavors, and I took note of any ingredients commonly of concern to vegans. After that, we’ll take a look at each of these “minor” ingredients and why they are each debated in the vegan community.
